Captain Henry Wickham was taken by the French in the Diamond on Sept 21, 1693. He was convicted of cowardice, and sentenced by a court martial to be imprisoned for life. Queen Anne indeed some years afterwards pardoned and released him, but he was never afterwards employed, and ended his days in obscurity. [Hampshire Chronicle, 6 January 1798]
