London, 11 January 1752: Last week died at his house at Barlby, in Yorkshire, of a consumption, James Broadley, Esq; a Captain in his Majesty’s Navy: He married the second daughter of the Hon Col Charles Douglas, whose head was shot off at Carthagena. [Kentish Post, 15 April 1752]
