This is the start of a letter from William Champain to Greenwich Hospital.
Latona Deptford 16th August 1804

Sir

His Majesty’s Ship Latona under my command being much in want of Men to fit out;

The first commission I find for William Champain was to 5th Lieut, HMS Queen, 2d/90, on 24 Dec 1779 (ADM 6/22, p.69)
