John Holland possibly buried at St Mary's Church, Chatham 31 May 1752 and will proved 2 June 1752 (see transcript):“ Knowing the uncertainty of life, I declare this my last will, that after my debts paid, a decent but not expensive funeral, I give to my dear and loving wife, Mary Holland, the interest of my little house at Chatham, also the six pounds a year my brother Thomas Holland, his heirs and executors due to pay me out of the rent of the Queen’s Head, as my father’s will directs during her life. Also my wages of servants [apprentices] and my salary, with the interest of my shares in Navy Bills or otherwise and use of plate & household goods during her natural life. Th[a]n when she is dead the rent for house, annuity of six pounds, servants wages, all the plate and goods, moneys, Navy Bills etc to be divided into two equal parts: one of them to my daughter Elizabeth Holland; the other to be divided equally between Holland John Eales and Sarah[?] Janey[?] Eales, his sister. This I declare to be my sincere intentions and will. John Holland 17 October 1747” “2nd June 1752 On which appeared personally Arthur Robbins of the parish of St Nicholas, Deptford in the County of Kent, Esquire.”
