It was not this Hyde Parker but his son, also Hyde (1824-1854), who commanded Firebrand in 1852-1854. (Sources: Lambert, "Parker, Hyde (1784?-1854)," ODNB; Laughton, "Parker, Sir Hyde (1739-1807)," ODNB. O'Byrne has a brief, incomplete entry on the youngest HP also (written five years before Parker's death in action in Crimea.)
