ADM1/1449/107 Folios 167-168 Dated 1st October 1799. Captain James Alms HMS Repulse at Spithead, he records that 2nd Lt. Thomas Graves was accidenteley left behind when they sailed from Torbay, Admiral Lord Bridport appointed Mr. Henderson Bain to act as Lieutenant in his stead. Mr Graves rejoined them at Spithead and so Mr Bain was discharged. He asksfor guidance as to wheter both Lieutenants should be paid for the period.
