I have it that Francis Davy's wife was Elizabeth Francis. They married at Topsham 6 Jul 1750, where they baptised their 5 children Richard Francis 5 Sep 1751 (buried 1752) Elizabeth 8 Feb 1753, Mary 27 Jun 1754, Clara 11 Sep 1755 and Francis 29 Sep 1761. The three girls are mentiioned in Elizabeths will proved 10 Nov 1803. The Exeter Flying Post dtd 10 Mar 1803 has a fine description of her funeral "On Friday last were deposited in the parish church of Topsham, the mortal remains of Mrs Elizabeth Davis the widow of Capt Davis of the Royal Navy. Six gentleman inhabitants of the town of Topsham, officers of His Majesty's Navy and Army, attended her funeral as pallbearers. etc.
