The Earl of St Vincent has appointed Wiliam Hall Gage, Esq, to be Captain of his Majesty’s ship Terpsichore, in the room of Captain Richard Bowen, who lost his life in the late unsuccessful attack upon the island of Teneriffe. Captain Bowen was a thoroughbred seaman, gallant, humane and generous; a sailor’s friend, beloved and admired by all who had the pleasure and honour of his friendship and acquaintance. [Hampshire Chronicle, 9 September 1797]

In 11 years you are only the second person to comment negatively. Don't think I'll rush to change it.
