Just to clarify, the Burke's Peerage entry is for the Earls of Aylesford - the two Finch brothers were younger sons of the 3rd Earl.

The Hon. Seymour Finch was born in 1758 (11 June), according to the 1913 edition of Burke's Peerage - many earlier and later editions omit him (and his elder brother Rear-Admiral William Clement Finch - also technically 'The Hon.', by the way) altogether.

Captain Seymour Finch apparently commanded HMS Pearl on a voyage through the Med c1788-9 - see The Times (London) 13 August 1789 (front page): advertisement for "A Tour up the Straits from Gibraltar to Constantinople..." by Lieut (later Capt) Sutherland of the 25th Regt. However, the book as published (1790) appears to contain no reference to him in title or text, at least by name.
