That is Hambleton, near oakham, Rutland.

May be the John Gardner buried in Hambleton church, in the nave, described as Captain Royal Navy, died 1811 at 52 years.Other Garders are there, including earlier rectors of that church.John clearly opted for a more active life. If this was him, he became Lieutenant at 28yrs and captain at 39yrs, retiring at 42.

Based on handwriting comparison, this John Gardner is NOT the John Gardiner of HMS Gorgon - who signed his name with that spelling; John Gardner of HMS Star consistently spells his name without the 'i' including in his will.
