6 May 1801 Queen14 hired Cutter Lt Minster arrived the Downs, from reconnoitring the ports and roads of Flushing, Ostend and Dunkirk. The former hired cutter Rose, of Dover, taken by Dutch bun vessels in the River Ems was seen at Ostend, as a privateer, and ready for sea.
