"The brig was assigned to the French ambassador Choiseul-Gouffier in Constantinople; it first took the ambassador and his suite to Constantinople, then travelled round the Bosphorus, Marmara, and the whole of middle East the following years: Truguet used it to set precise maps of the costs of the Ottoman Empire and to take Choiseul-Gouffier in his exploration of what was considered as the Troy region."
