In the University of Hull thesis 'English Privateering during the Spanish and French Wars, 1625-1630' by John Christopher Appleby, Appendix I lists all ships that received Letters of Marque for that period.

There are three London Merchant's listed, all (unsurprisingly) sailing from London.

Anyone of these is likely to be a better candidate for the ship you are interested in than the ship hired by the Royal Navy in the 1660s

Simple answer is don't know. But it seems unlikely that the R.N. would hire a forty year old vessel.

Is this same ship that ran from England to "James Citty Virginia Company" in 1624/5? If so what port did she sail out of? I am trying to find that ship the name is the same as
ship listed on "Virtual Jamestown". Thank you.
