According to the Friponne's logbook, the Patsey was a brand new three-masted Liverpool Privateer, copper-sheathed, mounting 24 x 6-pdr, 150 crew.
She suffered 20 men killed (Captain Dooling, his sailing master and 18 crew) and 20 to 22 injured men.
She was sent to Cadiz.

Edinburgh Advertiser Mar. 24, 1780 - Saturday last, arrived at Liverpool the Patsey, Capt. Doling, from Jamaica, who sailed from thence with the fleet for Europe on the 17th of January, and parted with it about eighteen days before off the banks of Newfoundland in a gale of wind.
