1812 Dec 27 Phoebe36 Captain James Hillyer, Elephant74, Captain Francis Austen, with Hermes20 Captain Philip Browne they captured the American privateer schooner Swordfish of Gloucester12, John Evans, master. Swordfish was 16 days out of Boston, she had thrown 10 guns overboard during the chase, which took 11 hours and covered more than 100 miles.
