Admiraky-Office, November,18, 1797.

Copy of a letter from the Right Hon. Lord Bridport, K. B. to Evan Nepean, Esq; dated on board His Majesty's Ship Royal George, at Sea, the 11 th Instant.
SIR, I acquaint you, for their Lordships Information, that on the 19th Ultimo, His Majesty's Ships Boadicea and Anson captured -Le Zephyr,French Brig Privateer of Nantes, armed with 2 Brass 12-pounders, 6  6-pounders and 70 men. She is quite new, coppered, and had not made any capture. The above ships also recaptured, on the 20th Ult. the ship Eliza, under American Colours, from London to the Cape of Good Hope, with a Cargo of merchandize of various sorts, which had been taken by the Confiance Privateer from Nantes ; and on the following day the ship Jenny, of Greenock, from Liverpool, bound to Virginia, laden with salt, earthen ware and some bale goods, taken the 10th .Ult. by the Hazard Privateer of Rochelle, after a defence which does credit to her master and crew.
