This ship ?
His Majesty's Ship Venus, Carlisle Bay, SIR, Barbadoes, January 18, 1807.
With great pleasure I report to you the capture, by His Majesty's Ship under my command, of the French Privateer Brig Determinée, from Guadaloupe, mounting 14 guns, with a complement of 108 men. We saw her from our mast-head, on the Forenoon of the 16th Instant, about 10 Leagues East of Barbadoes, and she gave us a chace of 16 hours. The Determinée is nearly new (being in her 4th cruize only), and a remarkable fine vessel, coppered and copper-fastened, out 16 days, and had not takrn any Thing.
I have, Sec
HENRY MATSON
