We have been favoured with the following particulars respecting the capture of the Sandwich packet, Captain Fitty: She sailed from Falmouth on the 8th ultimo, and was captured two days after, on the 10th, by Le du Guai Trouin privateer, out of Nantz. The privateer left that port on the 8th ult in company with twelve other privateers, some of them superior, the others of equal force. She had 18 nine-pounders, and was navigated by 150 seamen. Captain Fitty, the crew and passengers , have all been released by the French. [Hampshire Chronicle, 8 April 1797]
