Copy of a letter firom Captain Pearson, of His Majesty's Sloop Stork, dated off Scarborough, the 16th of August, 1797, to Evan Nepean, Esq ,
Have to acquaint you, for the information of my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, that, on the night of the 15th Instant, at 11 P.M. in His Majesty's Sloop Stork under my command, the Humber bearing West about 4 leagues, I fell in with, and, after a short chace, captured Le Lynx, a French Lugger Privateer, of 14 guns and 50 men, belonging to Dunkirk; which place she sailed from on the 13th, and I am very happy to say had taken nothing.
