London, 11 May 1751: Yesterday the Pursers of the Boscawen, Capt Braund, from Bombay, and the Fort St George, Capt Burdett, from Fort St George, came to the India-House, with the agreeable news, that the said ships arrived safe the 7th Instant off Plymouth. By the above ships there is advice that the Lord Anson, Capt Fowles, and the Shaftesbury, Capt Booky, were arrived at Bombay, and the Ilchester, Capt Tedd, at Persia. The Britannia, Capt Summer, is gone to Bengal; the Walpole, Capt Fee, lost her passage to India, and was returned to Bengal; Capt Low, who went out commander, is dead. The Warren, Capt Glover, is gone to Bengal; the Swallow, Capt Bell, was to be dispatched from Fort St David’s, the middle of January; and the Kent, Capt Robson, the London, Capt Sedgwick, and the Benjamin, Capt Meard, were to sail from Bengal in December. I have a letter dated 30/11/1751 addressed to a passenger on the Lord Anson at St Helena, Captain Fowels. A later letter written by the passenger gives the Captain's name as Foulis. Can anyone confirm that this is the same ship as the Lord Anson launched in 1749?

I'd be very grateful for any assistance with this query.
