On 23 May 1810, in company with RALEIGH and the cutter PRINCESS OF WALES, she was in action with 7 Danish gunboats, one of which was blown up and the others much damaged. She was not so lucky the following day when she was taken after a severe action with several Danish gunboats. The crew were saved but Lieut. THOMAS was killed.
The Danes used ALBAN until she was recaptured by RIFLEMAN after a 12 hour chase near the Shetlands on 11 May 1811.

On 18 December 1812 she was wrecked off Aldeborough, Suffolk. Nearly all the crew were lost, including the captain.
