London, 8 January 1752: The Houghton, Capt Walpole, for India, that received some damage, and put into Plymouth to refit, sailed from thence on her intended voyage on Friday last. [Kentish Post, 11 January 1752]

London, 26 December 1751: They write from Plymouth of the 22d Instant, that the Houghton, Capt Walpole, bound to the East-Indies, is repair’d of the damages she got on the Goodwin Sands, and is got out of the New Dock, and would sail in five or six days on her voyage. [Kentish Post, 28 December 1751]

London, 10 December 1751: The Houghton, Capt Walpole, for India, on Saturday ran on the Goodwin Sands, whereby she beat part of her sheathing off, and is sailed for Portsmouth to refit. [Kentish Post, 14 December 1751]

London, 2 December 1751: On Friday Capt Walpole of the Houghton for China, and Capt Furnell of the Exeter, for St Helena and Bencoolen, with Messieurs Pique, Hadley and Goddard, Supercargoes of the Houghton, for China, took their leave of the Court of Directors of the India Company. [Kentish Post, 4 December 1751]
