10 October 1799: Yesterday a Court of Directors was held at the East India House, when the Earl Cornwallis, lately arrived, was ordered to be fitted for sea, and the Earl of Mornington packet put under the orders of the Secret Committee. Captain Nash, of the Princess Mary, took leave previous to departing for St Helena and Bengal. [Hampshire Telegraph, 14 October 1799]

Portsmouth, 2 November 1799: The Indian Chief, and Princess Mary, extra ships for Bengal, are still at this port. It is not certain when they will sail, but it is expected to be shortly. [Hampshire Telegraph, 4 November 1799]

Portsmouth, 11 April 1801: Yesterday went past this port, for the Downs, the Arethusa, of 38 guns, Capt Wolley, from the Cape of Good Hope, with the following homeward-bound East-Indiamen and whalers under convoy, viz Princess Mary, Scalesby Castle, Walmer Castle, Upton Castle, Thames, Cuffnells, Royal Charlotte, and Bengal Anna, Indiamen; Aurora and Hillsborough whalers.
