The ships Bombay Anna, Anna of Bengal, Calcutta, Highland Chief, and Scaleby Castle, country ships, lately arrived from the East Indies, are preparing to return thither, with a freight on account of their respective owners. [Hampshire Telegraph, 11 November 1799]

Portsmouth, 11 April 1801: Yesterday went past this port, for the Downs, the Arethusa, of 38 guns, Capt Wolley, from the Cape of Good Hope, with the following homeward-bound East-Indiamen and whalers under convoy, viz Princess Mary, Scalesby [sic] Castle, Walmer Castle, Upton Castle, Thames, Cuffnells, Royal Charlotte, and Bengal Anna, Indiamen; Aurora and Hillsborough whalers. Portsmouth, 18 November 1815: The Company’s ship Scaleby Castle, from China, also the country ships Cornwallis and Swallow, arrived in the Downs on Wednesday morning. The Scaleby Castle left China the 12th of April, Batavia 30th of May, the Cape 26th of August, and St Helena 21st of September. The country ships Neptune and Broxbournbury, from Bengal for the River, passed by on Thursday. [Hampshire Chronicle, 20 November 1815]
