4-11 Oct 1780 a late hurricane strikes West Indies. Ships lost from C in C Jamaica Ad Parkers fleet with the Berwick74 dis-masted and Commodore Hotham squadron losses 6 ships including the Stirling Castle64 cap Carkett with all hands with the rest being dismasted
Phoenix44 cap Hyde Parker lost off Cuba the crew rescued after defending themselves against the Spanish
