My ancestor Kempster Knapp (3rd Gt Grandfather) was "2nd master of this vessel and in 1813 in siege of Trieste, wounded in an attack on enemy vessels, and in a boat captured 3 vessels under fire of musketry" according to Surgeon capt Monty Knapp from naval record sources, who wrote the above in 1932

My ancestor Surg Capt Monty Knapp stated the attack our ancestor Kempster Knapp of the Haughty was on Trieste (as per my comment earlier) but from your details of the napoleonic wars engagements it must have been Fiume instead.

HMS Haughty was a member of the 1804 batch and was one of seven contracted to be built by John Dudman at Deptford. Contracts were signed on the same day as the rest of the batch and the first keel section was laid at Dudman's yard in February of 1804. She was launched into the river Thames on the 7th May and commissioned for The Downs under Lieutenant John Mitchell. HMS Haughty spent the next few years patrolling and escorting convoys in the English Channel and the North Sea. ref kent history forum
