Not sure that you are correct, John Povey was an RN Captain with service stretching from 1628 until 1660. Lord John Paulet is a different person, who served briefly, possibly as admiral, on the Constant Reformation in 1635 (not 1638) with captain Kettleby, that is the total of his naval career.

Great site - but I think there is an error in the name of the Captain recorded as John Povey. I believe that should read (Lord) John Poulet of Hinton St George Somerset. He was reportedly knighted by the Earl of Lindsey aboard the "Mary Honour" in 1635. Check out a search for him. If you contact me off-line, I can send you a couple of links on this. Regards
