London, 30 April 1752: Yesterday the officers and crew belonging to the Medway Prize, were paid at the King’s Arms upon Tower-Hill their respective shares for the Santa Catherina, which was taken in the East-Indies in the late war. The legality of this capture has been long depending. Each sailor’s share amounted to upwards of £65. The Lascars, who have been beggars for some time past in the publick streets of this city, belonged to the said Medway Prize. [Kentish Post, 2 May 1752]
