My ancestor Commander Martin Cole RN was in command of this ship around 1829. I have been trying to confirm if Monkey was a Top sail schooner (I think so) or a fore and aft schooner - no square topsail on the foremast. She had 3 main guns - the odd number is strange - maybe a swivel gun?
