London, 6 January 1722: His Majesty’s ship the Panther, Captain Atkins commander, is ordered to proceed to Newfoundland, and is now fitting out at Portsmouth for that voyage. There will be a 6th Rate to accompany her, but we don’t hear that she is yet appointed. [Newcastle Courant, 13 January 1722]
