Commodore Evans put HMS Tourterelle, late under his command, out of Commission on 21 October 1811, in accordance with Vice Admiral Sawyer's order. Letter sent by Evans to Admiralty Office, dated 23 Oct 1811, archive reference ADM 1/1770, Folios 377-378.
