London, 30 May 1751: On Thursday morning last about three o’clock, his Majesty’s sloop the Vulture, coming up the Swin with a fair wind, ran ashore upon the NE end of the Middle Sand; but being moderate weather, and heaving their guns overboard, she was happily got off about six o’clock, and the same evening arrived in Sheerness harbour in a leaky condition. [Kentish Post, 1 June 1751]

London, undated: The Lords of the Admiralty have appointed Capt Hyat [sic, should be Wyatt], commander of the Fly sloop of war, to be Captain of the Vulture sloop now fitting out. [Kentish Post, 9 February 1751]
