London, 4 August 1722: His Majesty’s ship the Winchelsea, Capt Humphrey Orme, sailed lately from Spithead into the dock at Portsmouth, in order to be sheathed and otherwise fitted out for a West India voyage, being ordered for the Leeward Islands. [Stamford Mercury, 9 August 1722]

Lisbon, 28 January 1720: The Minister of Great Britain, who resides at this Court, has received advice by the Winchelsea man of war, lately arrived from Gibraltar, that the Treaty of Peace with the Regency of Salee is concluded, and that Commodore Stewart who who concluded the same will shortly come hither and send the Treaty to London, in order to its being ratified, proposing to stay in this city till he receives the ratification which he will carry and exchange with that of the King of Morocco.
